The Ramble is a significant location within the Briarverse.
The Ramble is a 36-acre “wild garden” located in Central Park, created with the intention of giving citizens a natural area in which they could escape the city. The Ramble was one of the first sections of Central Park to be constructed, and, like much of Central Park, it is almost entirely artificial. It is home to over 230 species of birds.
The Ramble appears to be a place of great magimystical significance. In his later years, Sullivan Green was drawn to The Ramble, and spent his last days wandering its paths. After his death, Sullivan requested that his ashes be scattered there, a request that was fulfilled by his daughter, Deirdre Green.
In Phase Two, Lauren Ellsworth was also drawn to The Ramble. Frustrated by her inability to unlock new pages in Sullivan Green’s journal, she wandered into The Ramble where, feeling possessed, she buried the journal in the freezing ground. As a result, new pages of The Monarch Papers were unlocked. This was a landmark event by which Lauren was able to prove herself to The Cagliostro.
